Brittany Hughes is a legislative expert and attorney. She currently serves as Legislative Director in the office of Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL). Ms. Hughes previously worked as U.S. Legislative and Regulatory Supervising Associate at Ernst & Young LLP. In addition, she previously worked in the office of Congressman John Lewis, where she served as Deputy Legislative Director and Counsel. Throughout her career, Ms. Hughes has worked on policy issues that include environmental sustainability, criminal justice, tax, financial services, women's health, defense and nuclear proliferation, small business issues, and more. Ms. Hughes has also served as Immigration Attorney and as an Attorney at the U.S. Small Business Administration, Office of Disaster Assistance. She has spent time working and living overseas in France and Rwanda,  and maintains proficiency in the French language. She is a Fellow of the Civil Society Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
